Empowering Individuals through Community, Advocacy, and Engagement

Active Engagement Despite Challenges

Despite living with chronic medical conditions, the group has become notably proactive. Members are committed to staying informed about the latest developments in pain management and treatment. This dedication is proved through regular meetings and continuous participation as personal circumstances permit.

Regular Meetings

The group convenes on the last Wednesday of each month at the Parish Hall, Christchurch, Stoke Road, Gosport. Meetings begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. Attendance is flexible, with members joining as their individual health and situations allow.

Expanded Activities and Outreach

In addition to monthly meetings, the group organises visits and participates in events at various venues. Upcoming activities are listed on the "Events" page of the group's website. The group extends a warm welcome to anyone living with the persistent burden of chronic pain.

How to Join

Individuals interested in becoming members are invited to use the "Contacts" page on the website to reach out and join the community.

Advocacy and Collaborative Efforts

In early 2013, the group showed its advocacy role by raising a petition expressing concerns about the withdrawal of funding for pain management in the region. This petition was delivered to the Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group (F&G CCG).

Following this, the President and current Chair met with CCG representatives to discuss these concerns and suggest improvements to the pain management pathway. The group has since kept active engagement with the CCG to help ensure the path continues to support all chronic pain sufferers in South East Hampshire.
